Description

The preparation of UF6 and UF5 is presented and reactions of these fluorides in anhydrous hydrogen fluoride and solvents such as NH3 or HCN are described. Several new U(V)-compounds are discussed. Some chemistry with the halogen fluorides ClF3 and BrF3 is reported and some history of ClF3 is elaborated. Another mineral containing the most reactive element, F2, in free form has been found on earth.
